Street Shooting with Julia Dean: Tuesday

When the midday light is making harsh shadows all over the city, duck into Union Station. The building is beautiful, and people from all walks of life are coming and going through beautiful pools of shadow and light. Besides, you can shoot while sitting in a chair. What's better than that?

Then we were out to Olvera Street, where it just happened to be Dia De Los Muertos!!! I shot everything and everyone I could until I had to leave to get back to a party that I was hosting AT MY HOUSE, otherwise I would have seriously considered staying.

Street Shooting with Julia Dean: Monday

If I have been conspicuously off the radar this week, it is because I have been at a Julia Dean Street Shooting workshop. We travelled to a new spot or two each day, trying photograph candid moments between people without being noticed. Easier said than done.

On Monday, we went to Hollywood Boulevard from 4pm-6pm. It was pretty harsh light, but, as always, full of some interesting characters.

This guy told me I was beautiful and asked if I had a card. Remind me to make cards - it is one of my favorite images from the week. Wish I could show it to him.

Right in front of Grauman's, these guys were hanging out on a sofa, with a sign that said, "free couch." Sometimes they would get up and move it around, or have their picture taken. I have no idea what they were trying to do, but they were fun to follow.

Raymond owns a camera store. He thinks I need a new camera.
